Ingredients (large-bt)
☘ 2 tbsp – poppy seeds (khus khus), lightly roasted
☘ 3 nos. – green chillies
☘ 6 nos. – large potatoes, peeled and cubed
☘ 3 tbsp – mustard oil or any other cooking oil
☘ 3 nos. – whole dry red chillies
☘ ½ tsp – turmeric powder
☘ 100 ml – water
☘ To taste salt
Method (large-bt)
1) Combine the poppr seeds (khus khus) and green chillies with 1 tbsp water and grind to a smooth paste.
2) Spread the potato cubes evenly in a casserole, toss with 1 ½ oil and microwave uncovered on high power for 5 minutes, pausing and stirring after every 2 minutes. Remove from casserole and keep aside.
3) In the same casserole, add the remaining oil, dry red chillies, turmeric powder and poppy seed (khus khus) paste and mix well. Microwave uncovered on high power for 4 minutes, pausing and stirring after every 2 minutes.
4) Mix in the potatoes and water and microwave covered for 7 minutes, pausing and stirring after every 3 minutes.
5) Mix in salt and microwave for 30 seconds.
6) Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
